Buona Festa della Donna, one of our favorite Italian traditions

Join us at A16 on Sunday, March 8th, as we celebrate International Women's Day (Festa della Donna) with an evening dedicated to leadership, community, and the women who are shaping the world, starting with our own Shelley Lindgren, who has shaped the world of wine and hospitality.

For over two decades, Shelley has been a defining voice for Southern Italian wine in the United States, championing small producers, native grapes, and regions often overlooked, while helping shape San Francisco’s dining culture and mentoring generations of hospitality professionals along the way. 

This evening celebrates women-led leadership, vision, and generosity. Shelley will guide guests through a selection of wines that reflect her lifelong work: wines rooted in Southern Italy, crafted with integrity, and chosen with intention.

For this night, Shelley will curate a selection of California and Italian wines made by women. The lineup will include Tansy, the California project founded by Shelley and Kitty Oestlien, a personal expression of their shared values around farming, balance, and collaboration.
