La Dolce Vita: Cookies & Wine with Domenica Marchetti

  • Book Society 2945 College Avenue Berkeley, CA, 94705 United States (map)

Sip, savor, and dunk!

Join us for a deliciously unique evening that brings together two of our favorite things—cookies and wine—in celebration of Italian Cookies, the latest book from the authority in Italian cooking, Domenica Marchetti.

In this special event, Domenica will share stories and recipes from her newest cookbook, which captures the heart of Italy’s cookie culture—from rustic almond twists and crumbly cornmeal sbrisolona to spiced red wine biscotti meant for dunking. Together, we’ll explore the history and regional influences behind these classic dolci while enjoying a tasting of cookies made with and for wine.

Guiding us through the pairings will be Kitty Oestlien, co-founder of Tansy Wines, who will be pouring a selection of Tansy’s thoughtfully crafted wines. With a focus on Italian varietals grown in California, Tansy is a modern, women-owned and women-made brand that Kitty founded in partnership with A16 restaurant owner Shelley Lindgren over a shared love of southern Italian wines.

Get ready for an indulgent tasting that blends culinary storytelling, tradition, and a touch of la dolce vita!

Your ticket includes:

  • A guided tasting of Italian cookies and wines curated by Domenica and Kitty

  • Conversation with Domenica on the stories and traditions behind Italian Cookies
